It's Christmas light season, since it's dark 20 hours a day now, ha ha

Some shots around town, with the waning daylight of the East Three School, and main street (Mackenzie). The devices over the windows on the school are clearly passive solar shades, as the gridding so amply demonstrates with this low angle sun, though many have the thought that they are rock guards to protect windows from projectiles (and they reportedly don’t work worth a heck in the spring as a shade).

The sun now barely rises above the horizon and sets awfully early. Dawn is 11:30 and getting later, lol . So…night pics come to play. One person’s Xmas presentation is rather involved; many other houses have lights up as well. One the way back from this particular display I took some shots of some of the commercial buildings, Capital Suites, Gwich’in Head offices, the sign in front of Aurora Research Institute, and downtown Inuvik at 10:45 PM, not much going on.
