Travel down the Dempster Highway to Fort McPherson and Tsiigehtchic

Went down to Fort McPherson, mainly to go to the Yukon border to do some back country touring / skiing but the road was closed yet again so I had to settle for a tour around town and some skiing on the hills just south of town. snow was actually snow down here and was good for touring. Sunny day with a temp around -1 to +4, really hot for the Arctic.

Home of the McPherson Tent Company, among other things.

The Church

Shots from the around town - part of the town is on a utilidette system and part is pump out.

Just past the Peel River the road was closed but still drivable part way. Flipped over semi just beyond the river. Also some really strong mirages from the road near the semi. And some shots of the Peel River ferry.

Some ski shots -good snow moderate terrain

On the way back I found some, key word being some, lol, ice along the Mackenzie River by Tsiigehtchic aka Arctic Red River

And finally some aurora shot from the middle of the Dempster Highway about midnight just south of Inuvik by Campbell Lake, and for good measure the moon shot from the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility about 1 AM, long day.
