Inuvik, Place of Man, is currently the northern end of the Dempster Highway. It is a government town of an approximate population of 3200. It's been really muddy...

Falcons and flowers along the Dempster Highway south of Inuvik
Some shots down along the Dempster highway on day trips south of Inuvik mostly before Caribou Creek, just past Campbell Lake etc.
Old gravel pit left over from the building of the Dempster that has filled up with water displaying nice sedimentary layering in the bedrock along the edge of the Delta. People hunt waterfowl here in the spring time. ..and some leaves. the amount of biomass that springs forth is rather substantial.
A pair of falcons are nesting just near the airport. Unfortunately one of them was killed shortly after the first sequence of pix - hit by a vehicle on the highway about 5 kms from the nest. One remains and is still caring for eggs or offspring - can't tell which yet.
views out by the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility. the cliff is south of the airport and didn't ever make it out to it as access is problematic
and some flowers by my climbing area access trail and overlooking Gwich'in Park, blossoming kinikinik!
