The Ice Road out to Reindeer Station

Well...it's interesting to see ships on the land and trucks on the river. As I mentioned most roads are now fully opened but have weight restrictions. Colder day with temps down around -32 C. Good day for fur hats.

Out on the road, the moon was just rising, at 2 PM. the temps and limited wind had the trees and scrub well frosted, producing an ethereal texture

The truck on the ice, not all that different from any other road when it's covered in snow. In the second image the ice dust is so fine that it hangs in the air for many minutes after driving by; a consequence of the dry atmospherics here.

The hills just north of Reindeer Station - which was a place that was originally used by people herding said animals as livestock. The "station" apparently is still used for such occasionally and does see general recreational use as well. Some shots looking out into the delta as well

Saw Brad Firth "Caribou Legs" on the road. He was running from Inuvik to Tuk, 180 Kms, to raise awareness about addictions issues.
