Aurora down by the river and the barges overwintering by town, about 2 weeks ago. Strong displays even before the sun had set - on the way back from the Reindeer Herd north of town by Jimmy Lake
...and a few reindeer pix from earlier in the evening. Herd was skittsh because somebody had been shooting them - reportedly they took 15.
Inuvik, Place of Man, is currently the northern end of the Dempster Highway. It is a government town of an approximate population of 3200. It's been really muddy...

Nov 7, 2013 Aurora over the Aurora Campus of Aurora College
First very nice Aurora Borealis of the season last night. I took some quick pix about midnight. Shots from the campground in town and the College, Aurora over Aurora Campus ha ha. Some of the pix in the campground have shades of pink and purple above the green V, which is nice to see ( Yes, I know that reciprocity failure presents that colour scheme, and Google is trying to draw data out of the blacks again (!!!) but it's in the original RAW file). Intense display courtesy the Van Allen Belts but short lived this time around.
