Just catching up on some images...
Strangely enough when I was buying some 2x4s in October guess where they came from; the mill down the street from my house in Cochrane. Of course just about every house in the central part of Cochrane can say that the mill is just down the street. Funny that the wood followed me up here, or visa versa.
As I mentioned below, the “old, Old Folks Home” was demolished in the past weeks. First the workers were in the building removing hazardous materials (asbestos) sans protective gear ; then someone said something about that and they got it pronto. The actual demo came about a week later and lo and behold did they ever raise a big dust cloud that was blowing right down the street. Sure hope they got all the asbestos out of the building before they took the track hoe and loader to it. I chose to walk upwind of it.
Some random shots of the channel the day before it started to freeze over. The commercial boats came out of the water early.
...and just some pix with the 300mm, in the dark, at -20 just to see it how long it took the optics to cool down and stop refracting all over the place; a while apparently.
